A macOS Emoji Keyboard Change I don't like

The emoji picker is now content-aware.

Previously, when you pressed 🌐 (or command + option + space), it would just open the emoji picker. Now it looks at the previous word you typed and if it matches an emoji it will suggest entering that (e.g., world it suggests 🌎, 🌍, 🗺️ [but not 🌏, even though it's present in the full pickers options for world] and with mad it suggests 😠, 😡). You have to press down or press 🌐 again to get the full picker. If you choose a selected one it will replace the word with the suggested emoji.

I don't like it. This might make sense in a touchscreen environment but it just makes things inconsistent in a keyboard environment. Now I no longer know if pressing will take one press or two. It's also inconsistent insomuch as when I open the picker and type, return will insert the emoji. if i get the small popup, enter only sometimes works (this might just be part of the general flakiness of the picker)
