Spelunky 2
I mentioned previously that I had completely switched my speedrunning set up (pun unintended). how's that going? Okay.
Mostly, I haven't had much time to play around with it. I haven't tried modding the pro controller to give it bigger deadzones but I picked up a bluetooth receiver so I could use the xbox controller I had been using on windows.
For a little while, I had thought this was adding some lag to the system. Controls felt off and I wasn't sure if this was the controller or the receiver. Then, today, I had a revelation. The problem is my TV. I had never set it to low-latency mode and I sure can feel the difference. No wonder I didn't think the OBS stream latency felt that bad. Unfortunately, the low-latency mode on my TV is also not great. The game feels way better to play but the ghosting is incredibly noticeable.
I think I might need to move my switch to my office so I can use a monitor instead. That means I'll have to use my laptop to record (or my windows machine, ha). This should be fine, my laptop is more powerful than my desktop, but it makes it a bit more annoying if I want to listen to music while I stream as I don't want that captured in the recording.
I don't have time to move things this afternoon but maybe I'll try this out this evening and report back. I feel like we're close to being in a position where I can start improving runs again
